In today’s article, we’re looking at the best bidet for hemorrhoids.
Bidets can be used for hemorrhoids, but some are better than others. According to this study (and Brondell), prolonged cleaning sessions with low pressure and/or a wide spray jet are ideal.
I’ve found extended, low-pressure cleansing sessions useful for this issue, especially when combined with warm water. Basically, an extended session is needed because lower pressure takes longer to finish cleaning. Hence, I recommend bidets with tankless and hybrid heaters.
A warm air dryer may also be useful, since a quality dryer can replace the need to dab dry with TP or a towel, which often cause irritation to hemorrhoids.
Best Bidets for Hemorrhoids: Value Options
The Budget Pick: The Brondell LE and LT Bidets

Brondell’s LE and LT line of bidets have the best wash mode for hemorrhoids.
They come in a line of four entry-level seats: the LT89, LT99, LE89, and LE99.
You can check current prices on the LT99 and LE99 here (Amazon links).
All four bidets have the same hemorrhoid-friendly wash setting, but only the LE89 and LE99 come with a warm air dryer. The difference between the LE89 and LE99 is that the latter comes with a wireless while the former comes with a side panel. Also, the LE89 doesn’t have user presets.
The dryer performance (when I tested the bidets) was lackluster, so I’d go with whichever is least expensive at the time of purchase.
If equal in price, I’d go with one of the dryer models (the LE89 or LE99), since you will get more use out of the dryer with practice.
Pros:
- These bidets tick the two most important boxes for hemorrhoid friendliness: an extended duration low-pressure wash mode and endless heated water.
- Very affordable.
- Comes with other great features.
- Available for round and elongated toilets.
Cons:
- I preferred the wireless remote for convenience purposes (no having to look down and to the side to operate the bidet), but it was too sensitive for my liking, and I found myself pressing buttons by accident. The side panels have buttons instead of a touch surface, so they were easier to use.
- No ability to adjust the spray width for a wider water stream.
- Weak air dryer with the LE models.
Benefits for Hemorrhoids

Sitz Bath Mode
Where this one really shines is the sitz bath session.
Did you know that bidets can be used for sitz baths? In fact, the first bidet toilet seat was created as a medical device called the “American Sitz Bath”. Research has shown that bidets “could be used to reduce anal resting pressure in the same manner as the traditional warm sitz bath under the conditions of low or medium water jet pressure, a warm water temperature, and a wide type water jet.”
With this setting, the water pressure is set to the lowest level. We’re interested in hemorrhoids, but it can be used for frontal wash settings as well.
When cleansing, press the “Nozzle Cleaning” button to activate the setting.
The bidet will run for five minutes at low pressure and whichever temp setting you’ve selected. You can stop it early by pressing the Nozzle Cleaning button again.
Easy Gentle Wash Function
This setting is for general use. It’s like an easy one-push auto mode that puts the lowest water pressure setting in place.
It initiates a preset wash and dry cycle with the softest pressure setting followed by a dry cycle if using the LE99.
On the upside, it’s easy to use. Just press “Gentle”. On the downside, the wash and dry cycles are set to two minutes each which may not be enough.
Endless Heated Water

The LE89 and 99 bidets come with a mid-tier (hybrid) water heater. While the water is endlessly heated, the temperature does drop after about 40 seconds to the low 90’s Fahrenheit.
While not as nice as the full temp control you get with tankless heaters, the lukewarm water is quite soothing for irritated skin and will come in handy for extended low-pressure cleansing sessions.
Features and Performance
Cleansing Performance
- Great cleansing performance.
- Single, 2-in-1 stainless-steel nozzle for rear and frontal cleansing.
- 2-minute default spray session length and 5 nozzle positions for aiming accuracy.
- Adjustable water pressure with a max flow rate of 0.8 L/min.
Warm Water
- Hybrid heater for water that never runs cold.
- In testing the bidets on high temperature, the water reached a max temp of 98° F (or 36.7° C) by the 40-second mark and then cooled down, settling at ~90° F (32.2° C) where it remained.
Advanced Spray Features
- A gentle and strong button that puts the pressure on low and high (respectively) for a standard spray session of 2 minutes.
- Sitz bath setting for extended low-pressure cleansing sessions to soothe sensitive skin.
- An oscillation mode that causes the nozzle to move for you to hit a wider area—that way you don’t have to shift around as much.
- Massage setting that rotates water pressure for a soothing effect.
Warm Air Dryer (LE89 and LE99 Only)
- Adjustable warm air dryer with a 2min default dry time and multiple temp settings.
- It has a fairly weak air output that I tested at about 1000 ft/min. You can still benefit from this dryer, but it’ll take practice.
Convenience Features (LE99 and LT99 Only)
- The models with wireless remotes let you and another user save your preferred water temperature, water pressure, nozzle position, and even seat and dryer temperatures.
Nightlight
- Blue in-bowl nightlight.
Sanitation
- The nozzles are made of stainless steel which is meant to resist soiling.
- Both bidets offer on-demand and automatic nozzle self-cleaning functions.
Seat and Lid
- Adjustable heated seat with 3 temperature settings ranging from 93.2°F to 107.6°F (34-42° C.
- Easy bidet removal button and slow-close seat and lid.
Bio Bidet USPA 6800U

The Bio Bidet USPA 6800U is a good fit for hemorrhoids. While it doesn’t have an adjustable spray width, the bubble setting provides a broader, softer spray pattern.
You can find the Bio Bidet 6800U here (also available here).
Pros:
- Dispersed hole pattern for softer cleansing (both front and rear).
- Bubble setting infuses microbubbles into the outgoing water stream for a softer, more comfortable cleansing experience.
- Instead of a vortex mode (like the BB-2000 and BB-1000), the 6800 has a massage-based enema mode meant to help things get moving again. So, instead of using a strong/concentrated stream of water that would likely irritate hemorrhoids, the 6800 uses the “IPP” setting that massages the sphincters to help get things moving again in a non-irritating way.
Cons:
- Weak warm air dryer performance.
- Basic tank-type heater. See the features section for comments on the warm water performance.
- No spray width adjustment.
Benefits for Hemorrhoids
Bubble Spray for Extra-Soft Cleansing

Most bidets advertise aerated cleansing, but with this bidet, you can actually tell a difference.
When you press the bubble button, the stream switches from concentrated and narrow to wide and dispersed.
It has a firm, yet soft feel that’s hard to explain.
Dispersed Hole Pattern

The front nozzle has 5 holes and the rear 3, so the water sprays evenly across a wider area.
Most bidets have a basic 2-in-1 nozzle design, which is a single nozzle with one hole for frontal cleansing and the other for rear.
This bidet uses a dual-nozzle setup with both nozzles having multiple holes for a more dispersed water jet and gentler cleansing experience.
Features and Performance
Cleansing Performance
- Great cleansing performance via plastic dual-nozzle setup for front and rear cleansing.
- 1-min default spray session and 5 nozzle positions (per cleaning wand) for accurate aiming.
- Max flow rate of 0.24 gal (or ~ 0.9 L) per minute.
Warm Water
- Reservoir water heater.
- This bidet is supposed to supply a limited warm water flow. However, in testing the bidet, I found the water to reach about 102° F (38.9° C) until the ~40-second mark, where it then dropped to around 90.9° F (32.7° C). It never got cold after that point. I don’t know if this is typical or not, because the 6800 isn’t advertised as having an advanced reservoir system.
Advanced Spray Features
- Oscillation mode for greater coverage.
- IPP enema mode that doubles as a general massage/pulse setting.
- A special air cleansing button that incorporates extra air bubbles for a softer, more dispersed jet stream.
Warm Air Dryer
- The dryer is dual speed so you can adjust both the air temperature and speed. Still, I found it to perform just “okay”, so you might have to supplement toilet paper until you get a bit of practice.
- I measured the air velocity at 1028 ft per minute (on the high setting), which isn’t great.
- The temp can be adjusted to a max of 140°F (60°C).
Convenience Features
- GREAT user presets: two users can save their preferred nozzle position, water temperature, water pressure, dry temperature, and seat temperature.
- An easy operation mode (the Auto button) that activates a minute of cleansing (oscillation, massage, and basic rear) followed by a 3-min dry cycle.
- Pressing the Child button puts kid-friendly settings in place, so kids needn’t know how to operate the bidet or which settings to choose.
Nightlight
- In-bowl nightlight for safe bathroom navigation in the dark.
Air Deodorizer
- The USPA 6800U is one of the only non-luxury bidets in the lineup to have an air deodorizer to keep the bathroom smelling fresh.
Sanitation
- The dual-nozzle system self-cleans before and after each use (automatically) and on-demand.
Seat and Lid
- Adjustable heated seat with a seat surface temp ranging from 91-102° F (32.8-38.9° C).
- Easy bidet removal button for installation, cleaning, etc.
- Slow-close seat and lid to prevent wear and tear.
Bio Bidet Ultimate 770

Another option with a sitz bath setting is the Bio Bidet Ultimate 770.
A similar option is the Slim 3, which you can find here. I haven’t tried the S3 bidet, but it has the same sitz bath feature as the U770.
You can check current prices here (Amazon link).
Pros:
- The Bio Bidet U770 ticks most of the boxes we’re looking for: a sitz bath mode, sufficiently gentle pressure, endless heated water, and a warm air dryer.
- Available in round and elongated.
Cons:
- I found the 6800 to be of higher quality.
- No spray width adjustment
Benefits for Hemorrhoids

Sitz Bath Mode
Like the Brondell LE89 and 99, this bidet has a dedicated sitz bath setting.
To activate this setting, press the Nozzle Cleaning button when the bidet is in use.
When activated, the water pressure is set to 1st level (regardless of the preset setting) and the bidet continues to cleanse for 5 minutes.
Endless Heated Water

Throughout the 5-min cleansing session, you won’t have to worry about the water going cold. In testing the bidet, I found it to run at max temperature for almost a minute, at which point the water temp cooled down to the low 90s Fahrenheit and stayed there.
Features
Cleansing Performance
- Great cleansing performance.
- Default spray session of 1 minute and 5 nozzle positions.
- Adjustable water pressure with a max flow rate of 0.8 L/min.
Warm Water
- And enhanced reservoir heater for endless warm water. This bidet uses Bio Bidet’s Fusion technology to keep the water from getting cold when the small reservoir runs out.
- In testing the bidet, the water reached about 102° F (or 38.9° C) on the high setting and began to cool after about 40-50 seconds. It then maintained 93° F (33.8° C) the rest of the time, regardless of the session length.
Advanced Spray Features
- Oscillation mode for expanded coverage.
- Massage setting.
Warm Air Dryer
- An average-performing warm air dryer with 5 temperature settings.
- This dryer has a default 3min session length, a max temperature of 122° F (50° C), and an air velocity of about 1100 ft/min.
Convenience Features
- The Ultimate 770 has pretty comprehensive user presets that let you save your favorite nozzle position, water temperature, water pressure, heated seat temperature, and warm air dryer temperature.
- Child wash button that puts kid-friendly settings in place.
Nightlight
- Blue in-bowl nightlight for bathroom navigation.
Sanitation
- Sturdy stainless-steel cleaning wand that resists soiling.
- Automatic and on-demand nozzle self-cleaning functions.
Seat and Lid
- Heated seat with 3 temperature settings. The temperature range wasn’t listed in the manual, but I tested the surface temperatures at 91.2° F (low), 95.5° F (med), and 100.3° F (high). Or from 32.9-37.9° C.
- Easy bidet removal button.
- Slow-close seat and lid.
The Luxury Picks
The Brondell SWASH 1400
The SWASH 1400 is Brondell’s premier luxury bidet and their most popular bidet seat, overall.
You can compare prices here and here.
The Brondell SWASH 1400 is a bidet that I’ve installed and used but haven’t extensively tested. I’ll be getting it at some point for testing and reviewing purposes.
The S1400 is a true luxury bidet. It’s been around for a long time, and has long been the brand’s most popular bidet for a reason.
Pros:
- The only bidet in the lineup to let you widen the spray width, which is thought to help benefit hemorrhoids.
- This bidet offers sufficiently low water pressure (some say too low), which should help prevent irritation.
- The S1400 (unlike the S1200), has an adjustable warm air dryer.
- A luxury instantaneous heater for endless warm water. This heater performs far better than the LE89 and 99 models listed above, in that the water temp doesn’t drop automatically after the half-minute mark.
- The SWASH 1400 is one of the more affordable luxury bidets.
- Available for round and elongated toilets.
Cons:
- No dedicated hemorrhoid spray setting. However, you can program one of the user presets to provide a suitable wash setting.
Benefits for Hemorrhoids
One study cited by Brondell showed that a bidet
“could be used to reduce anal resting pressure in the same manner as the traditional warm sitz bath under the conditions of low or medium water jet pressure, a warm water temperature, and a wide type water jet”
Pubmed
I would suggest using one of the user memory settings to personalize a hemorrhoid-friendly wash cycle.
With the SWASH 1400, two users can save their preferred settings for water temperature, water pressure, nozzle position, and even the oscillation setting (the mode that causes the nozzle to move back and forth), and the spray width.
The S1400 has an adjustable warm air dryer that should prevent you from having to use toilet paper. Even if you don’t find it 100% effective, it should at least cut down on the amount of dabbing dry that’s needed.
The default dry cycle lasts 2 minutes, but you can always extend the session length.
The user settings do not include a dry cycle. But, this is a good thing since the wash cycle only runs for 2 minutes, which likely wouldn’t be strong enough to finish cleaning at low pressure. So, if you need an extra session, you won’t have to interrupt the dryer.
Features and Performance
Cleansing
- Dual, 2-in-1 stainless-steel nozzles for front and rear cleansing.
- Default spray session of 2 minutes for front and rear.
- Instead of turbo and soft (sitz bath) spray modes, the S1400 lets you adjust the spray width from wide and soft to narrow and concentrated.
- A water flow rate of 0.5 L/min and 7 nozzle positions for aiming.
Warm Water
- Luxury ceramic core heater for endless warm water.
- Three water temp settings: Low (90° F), Medium (95° F), and High (100° F). Or from 32.2-37.8° C.
Advanced Spray Features
- Oscillation setting for greater coverage.
- Adjustable spray with, as mentioned, but no pulse massage mode.
Warm Air Dryer
- Adjustable warm air dryer.
- Average performance.
- 3 temperature settings and 2min default dry time.
Controls
- Handheld wireless remote with intuitive, easy-to-use buttons, magnetic mount, and Eco mode for battery life.
- Small auxiliary panel on side of the bidet.
Convenience Features
- Two users can save their favorite water pressure, water temp, spray width, and oscillation settings. The wash cycle lasts 2 minutes.
- Easy one-push auto mode for general use. It provides 90 seconds of cleansing and includes a 2-minute dry cycle.
Air Deodorizer
- An air deodorizer uses an activated charcoal filter to break down bad odors.
Nightlight
- In-bowl nightlight softly illuminates the bathroom at night to save you from having to turn on blinding lights.
Sanitation
- Automatic nozzle self-cleaning function.
- On-demand nozzle sanitation system that rinses the cleaning wands with silver oxide, a natural antimicrobial solution.
Seat and Lid
- Heated seat w/3 temp settings: Low (89° F), Medium (93° F), and High (97° F). Or from 31.7-36.1° C.
- Slow-close lid and seat to prevent wear and tear.
- Quick-release tab for easy bidet removal and cleaning.
Best TOTO Bidets for Hemorrhoids
The TOTO C2, C5, K300, and S550e offer specific benefits for those dealing with hemorrhoids.
Pros and Cons of TOTOs
Pros
- Hemorrhoid-friendly spray setting. All TOTO bidets in this article offer a wide spray mode via the “Rear Soft” setting. This feature may as well have been designed for hemorrhoids.
- Softer pressure. With a max flow rate of only 0.43 liters per minute, TOTO water pressure is on the soft side, which is ideal for irritated skin.
- TOTO offers the most powerful air dryers, so you’re less likely to need to supplement with toilet paper.
Cons
Benefits for Hemorrhoids

The Rear Soft Mode
All three bidets come with the Rear Soft mode.
In their brochure, TOTO describes the feature as using a larger radius to cover a greater area, which makes for a gentler, more comfortable spray.
This is ideal for hemorrhoids because as mentioned, studies have shown a wider water jet to be associated with reduced resting anal pressure.
Best Warm Air Dryers

TOTO offers the best air dryers on the market. They still take practice, but they do get the job done faster than other bidets.
High-temperature drying can irritate the skin, with or without hemorrhoids. So, having a powerful fan is the most important feature a dryer can have.
TOTO bidet dryers tend to have air volumes between 8 and 10 square feet per minute—up to about 10.24 ft3/min or 0.29m3/min.), which is well above average.
The TOTO C2 and C5 Washlets

The C2 and C5 are the newer, improved versions of the popular C100 and C200 (respectively).
So, they are TOTO’s entry-level bidet, i.e., their more affordable options.
You can find the C5 Washlet here and here.
The C2 can be found here and here.
The only difference between the two is that the C5 has a wireless remote and user presets while the C2 has a side panel with no presets.
User presets (what TOTO calls the personal settings feature) allow users to save their preferred wand position, water pressure, and water temperature.
Aside from that, the two bidets are identical.
These bidets are only available for elongated toilets. If you like what you see but have a round toilet, consider the C100 and C200 Washlets. They have an old design, but most of the same features and are still available for round toilets.
Finally, like their predecessors, the C2 and C5 come with basic tank-type heaters which only offer about 40 seconds of truly warm water. After the first minute or so, the water dips to room temperature.
Features and Performance
Cleansing Performance
- Good cleansing performance.
- Single, 3-in-1 plastic nozzle for front and rear cleansing. The middle nozzle hole is for the soft hemorrhoid-friendly setting.
- Default 1-min spray session and 5 nozzle positions for aiming.
- Water pressure (flow rate) of 0.27 to 0.43 L per minute.
Warm Water
- Tank-type water heater and 3 temp settings that range from 95 to 104° F (35-40° C).
- In testing the bidet on high temperature/pressure, it ran at max temp for about 40 seconds before dropping to cool (79° F or 26.1° C).
Controls
- The C5 Washlet has a luxury dual-sided wireless remote with an illuminated touchpad and magnetic wall mount, and the C2 has a sleek side panel.
Advanced Spray Features
- Both bidets have an oscillation mode that causes the nozzle to move back and forth to hit a greater area.
- Massage/pulse mode that alternates strong and soft pressure for a soothing effect.
- Rear Soft setting for hemorrhoids, bidet sitz bath sessions, or soothing irritated skin, in general.
Warm Air Dryer
- Adjustable warm air dryer.
- The temperature can be adjusted from 95 to 140°F (35-60°C).
- Excellent strength with an air volume of 8.83 ft3/min.
User Presets (C5 Washlet Only)
- Two users can save their preferred settings for water temp/pressure and nozzle position.
Air Deodorizer
- Both the C2 and C5 have dual-speed air deodorizers. A fan circulates air from the toilet bowl through a carbon filter that breaks down molecules responsible for bad odors. The deodorizer has two modes, normal and power. The normal mode activates when you sit and the power mode (a stronger fan setting) kicks on upon standing.
Sanitation
- The nozzles of the C2 and C5 Washlets self-rinse with EWATER+, a solution of electrolytes that forms sodium hypochlorite, a water treatment chemical that sanitizes the nozzle surfaces.
- PREMIST—both bidets spray the toilet bowl with EWATER+ when the user sits down. This creates a slippery toilet bowl surface to make it harder for waste to adhere, reducing the amount of manual cleaning needed.
Seat and Lid
- Cozy heated seat with multiple temperature settings. The seat surface temp is adjustable from 82 to 97 °F (~28-36 °C).
- Gentle-close seat and lid.
- Easy bidet removal button.
The TOTO K300 and S550e Washlets

The S550e is largely thought to be the best money can buy and the K300 is not far behind. The K300 offers 90% of the features of the S550e but at roughly half the price.
You can compare prices for the K300 here and here.
The TOTO S550e can be found here and here.
The main difference between these two options from the C2/C5, is that the K300 and S550e come with a luxury instant heater that never runs out of warm water.
The main difference between the K300 and S550e is the latter has an automatic open/close seat and lid that uses a motion sensor to detect when the user approaches and leaves the bidet. Also, the S550e is one of two TOTO bidets to have an in-bowl nightlight.
There are a few different versions of the bidets, so you have to make sure to select the right one. Some come in biscuit, some are only available for TOTO toilets, and there is a version of the K300 that doesn’t use EWATER+.
Finally, if you have a round toilet, you’d need to go with the S350e, which is mostly identical to the S550e. You can compare prices for the round S350e here and here.
Unfortunately, the K300 does not have a round equivalent.

- The air temperature can be adjusted between 95°F and 140°F (35-60°C).
User Presets
- Both bidets have two user presets for saving your preferred water pressure/temperature and nozzle position.
Air Deodorizer
- Both bidets come with a dual-speed air deodorizer that uses a carbon filter to remove odorous compounds from the air.
Sanitation
- The K300 and S550e use sanitizing EWATER+ to clean the nozzles before and after each use (automatically) and on-demand.
