TOTO Neorest RS vs AS vs LS: 2026 Buyer’s Guide

NEOREST RS Dual Flush 1.0 or 0.8 GPF Toilet with Integrated

I’ve lived with TOTO’s wash system for years through the WASHLET seats in my own bathroom. The Neorest is that same system built into a one-piece toilet with a motorized lid, auto flush and bowl misting.

Bidet King currently lists three of these neorest bidet toilets. They run from about $4,679 to roughly $8,790, so the gap between the cheapest and priciest is more than a decent bathroom vanity costs.

For most buyers, I’d pick the Neorest RS: at about $4,679 it delivers the same 1G TORNADO FLUSH, PREMIST, CEFIONTECT glaze, EWATER+ wand and bowl misting, heated seat and warm air dryer as the AS and LS, for roughly $2,100 less than the AS.

The AS earns its price if you share a bathroom with three or more adults or want under-seat EWATER+. The LS suits buyers who want ADA seat height, a roomier seat and colored trim. I have not tested any Neorest. Everything model-specific below comes from TOTO’s and Bidet King’s spec sheets, and my hands-on notes come from TOTO seats I own.

Neorest RS vs AS vs LS: Quick Summary Table

The three toilets share almost every comfort and cleaning feature. The price jumps buy you more user presets, under-seat cleaning, a different shape and, on the LS, ADA height with trim choices.

What Do You Get at Each Price?

At about $4,679, the RS (MS8341CUMFG) pairs the SN8341M top unit with the CT8551CUMFG elongated bowl. That’s the full hands-free Neorest experience with two memory slots.

The AS (MS8551CUMFG) sits on the exact same CT8551CUMFG bowl but uses the SN8551M top unit. For about $2,100 more, you get four memory presets, an under-seat EWATER+ rinse, sharper styling and, per retailer descriptions, a metal stick-style remote in place of the RS’s plastic block remote.

The LS (MS8732CUMFG) moves to its own CT8732CUMFG bowl. Bidet King lists it from about $8,007 to $8,790 depending on trim, with ADA seat height and a choice of silver, nickel or black rear trim.

Which Specifications Need Confirmation?

Three rows in that chart are blank on purpose. TOTO does not publish a MaP flush score on these retail listings, and Bidet King’s listings don’t give a seat height in inches for the RS or AS.

Warranty is the other one. TOTO sets warranty terms by product and buyer type, so read the warranty document that ships with your exact model number before you buy. If seat height is a deal-breaker for a tall user or someone with mobility issues, ask the seller for TOTO’s spec sheet with the dimension drawing.

What the Neorest Line Is (and What Replaced the 700H, RH and AH)

The Neorest line is TOTO’s family of integrated smart toilets, where the bidet electronics, heater and bowl are designed as one unit. In mid-2023, TOTO rolled out the RS, AS and LS alongside the NX1, and announced the end of the Neorest 700H, 750H and the Sedona beige versions of the AH and RH.

How Does an Integrated Toilet Differ from a WASHLET Seat?

A TOTO WASHLET is a bidet seat you bolt onto a toilet you already own. The seat handles the wash, the heated seat and the dryer, and your existing toilet handles the flush.

A bidet toilet like the Neorest folds both jobs into one body. That’s what makes auto flush, PREMIST bowl misting and bowl-level EWATER+ possible, because the electronics control the flush valve too.

Price is the trade. My S550e seat cost a fraction of a Neorest RS, and it covers the wash side well. If you’re weighing seats, my TOTO S550e vs C5 comparison walks through two of the better ones.

Where Do the Other Neorest Models Fit?

The RS, AS and LS are the floor-mounted, “affordable” end of today’s TOTO Neorest models. Above them sit the Neorest NX1 and NX2, TOTO’s sculpted floor-mounted designs. The NX2 adds ACTILIGHT, TOTO’s UV-light bowl treatment, and the NX2 has been sold mainly through showrooms.

The WX1 and WX2 are the wall-hung versions, which need an in-wall carrier and a bigger remodel. My older roundup of TOTO Neorest bidets compared covers the 700H, RH and AH these three replaced. The RS and AS are the spiritual successors to the RH and AH: same wash tech, simpler shells, lower price than the NX models.

What All Three Share

The RS, AS and LS use the same flush system, the same wash functions and the same hands-free automation. According to the spec sheets, the shared list covers dual flush, 1G TORNADO FLUSH, CEFIONTECT, PREMIST, EWATER+ wand and bowl misting, plus the full set of comfort features.

Which Cleaning and Flushing Features Are Standard?

Every model is a one-piece, skirted dual flush toilet rated at 1.0 gpf for a full flush and 0.8 gpf for a light one. That’s well under the 1.28 gpf many smart toilets use.

The bowl side is identical on paper:

  • 1G TORNADO FLUSH with 360-degree rim cleaning
  • CEFIONTECT glaze on the bowl surface
  • PREMIST, which wets the bowl before use
  • EWATER+ misting of the wand and the bowl after use

The wand itself offers front cleanse, soft rear, rear, oscillating and pulsating modes, with adjustable warmth and volume. An instantaneous water heater feeds it, so warm water doesn’t run out partway through a wash.

Which Hands-Free and Comfort Features Are Standard?

All three run the same automation routine. A sensor opens the lid as you approach, and the toilet flushes on its own when you stand. A manual flush override covers power outages.

The comfort list matches too:

  • Heated seat with five temperature settings
  • Warm air dryer with five temperature settings
  • Automatic air deodorizer
  • Nightlight
  • Wireless remote

That makes each one a fully featured heated bidet toilet. You won’t find a “stripped” model in this trio.

Neorest RS: The Entry Point

The Neorest RS is the cheapest way into a current Neorest, and it gives up very little. At about $4,679 for MS8341CUMFG#01, it carries the full shared feature list on the same CT8551CUMFG bowl the AS uses.

What Does the Lower Price Still Include?

You get everything in the shared list: auto lid, auto flush, PREMIST, CEFIONTECT, 1G TORNADO FLUSH, EWATER+ on the wand and in the bowl, the heated seat and the five-step dryer. The wash modes and warm-water heater are the same as the AS.

Design-wise, the RS has the softer, rounded seat shape. Some buyers prefer it, because it blends into a traditional bathroom better than the AS’s crisp edges.

What Do You Give Up Compared with the AS?

The RS stores two user memory presets, where the AS and LS store four. Each preset saves your preferred water temperature, pressure and nozzle position.

The RS also skips the under-seat EWATER+ rinse, and it uses a plastic block-style remote. If two adults use the toilet, two presets cover it. A family of four will be adjusting settings by hand.

Neorest AS: The Mid Model

The Neorest AS is the RS with a sharper look and two practical upgrades. Bidet King lists MS8551CUMFG#01 at about $6,783, which is roughly $2,104 more than the RS for a toilet on the identical bowl.

What Does the AS Add over the RS?

Per the spec sheets and retailer descriptions, the AS adds three things:

  • Four-user memory in place of two presets
  • Under-seat EWATER+ cleaning, which mists the area under the seat
  • A metal stick-style remote with a more premium feel

The SN8551M top unit has crisper edges and angled lines. It reads modern in a bathroom with square sinks and flat-panel vanities.

Is the Upgrade Worth Its Price?

For a two-person household, I’d keep the $2,100. The flush and wash hardware are the same, and the RS already mists the wand and bowl with EWATER+.

The math shifts with more users. Four people sharing one toilet get real use from four presets, and the under-seat rinse targets the spot that gets grimy fastest in homes with boys. If you like the angular styling as well, the AS makes sense.

Neorest LS: The Flagship

The Neorest LS is the largest and best-trimmed of the three, priced around $8,007 to $8,790. It’s the only one Bidet King lists at ADA seat height, and the only one sold with colored trim.

What Changes in the Bowl, Seat and Trim?

The LS uses its own CT8732CUMFG bowl with a curvier profile. Retailers describe it as slightly longer and wider than the AS and RS, with a larger seat area.

The trim is the visible upgrade. TOTO offers the LS with silver (#01S), nickel (#01N) or black (#01B) rear trim, while the AS uses plastic side panels in Cotton White. Cleaning features match the AS, including four-user memory and under-seat EWATER+.

Who Benefits Most from the LS?

Three groups get their money’s worth:

  • Taller users and anyone with knee or hip trouble, who benefit from ADA height
  • Bigger users who’ll notice the extra seat area
  • Remodelers matching black or nickel fixtures

If none of those apply, the LS is mostly paying for looks. As luxury smart toilet pricing goes, it still lands below the NX1 and NX2.

Cleansing Performance

All three Neorests use TOTO’s standard wand, heater and spray modes, so wash quality should match across them. I can’t speak to these toilets in use, but the wand tech is shared with the TOTO WASHLET seats I own.

What Can My TOTO WASHLET Seat Experience Tell Us?

This is seat experience, not Neorest testing. I’ve used an S550e daily for over a year, plus a C5 and a TOTO K300 WASHLET.

TOTO’s spray is aerated and gentle. It mixes air into the stream, so it feels full and soft. People who want a hard jet sometimes find the default rear mode mild, and that’s why the rear soft and front modes exist. The oscillating setting widens coverage, which I use more than pulsating.

The warm air dryer on my S550e helps but doesn’t fully dry in under a minute or so. I still use a square of paper to pat dry. EWATER+ wand cleaning kept my nozzle noticeably cleaner between deep cleans.

What Remains Unverified on These Three Toilets?

TOTO doesn’t publish spray flow rates or dryer airflow for the RS, AS and LS on retail listings. The older 700H had a flow rate of 0.07 to 0.11 gallons per minute, but I won’t assume the new models match.

TOTO also lists five temperature settings for the seat and dryer without temperature ranges on these listings. If you have specific needs, like a sitz-style soak for hemorrhoids, ask for the instruction manual for your model number. My complete guide to cleaning a bidet covers manual wand care that applies to any TOTO.

Flushing, PREMIST and CEFIONTECT

The bowl technology is identical across the RS, AS and LS, and it’s built as a system. PREMIST wets the surface, CEFIONTECT keeps it slick, and the tornado flush scrubs it with less water.

How Do the Flush and Bowl Glaze Work Together?

The 1G TORNADO FLUSH sends water in a circular, 360-degree swirl around the bowl instead of dropping it straight down from a rim. TOTO rates it at 1.0 gpf full and 0.8 gpf light.

CEFIONTECT is a ceramic glaze with a very smooth, ion-barrier surface, so waste has less to grip. PREMIST sprays a film of water into the bowl as you approach, which helps even more. On my WASHLET-equipped standard toilet, PREMIST alone made a visible difference in skid marks. A full Neorest pairs it with the glaze.

Where Does EWATER+ Clean on Each Model?

EWATER+ is electrolyzed water, a mild cleaning solution made from tap water. On all three models, it mists the wand and the bowl after use.

The AS and LS add under-seat EWATER+ misting. That covers the underside of the seat and rim area, which is a classic splash zone. None of these three use ACTILIGHT; that stays on the NX2 and wall-hung WX2. You’ll still clean the bowl, just less often. If self-cleaning is your top priority on a smaller budget, check my picks for the best self cleaning bidets.

Design, Dimensions and Seat Height

The RS and AS share a bowl, while the LS has its own larger bowl at ADA height. Seat shape and trim drive most of the visual difference in any TOTO Neorest comparison.

How Do the Three Shapes and Footprints Compare?

The neorest rs has a curved, softer top unit. The neorest as uses the same CT8551CUMFG bowl but tops it with an angular seat and crisp lines.

The neorest ls is curvier, longer and wider than both, with a larger seat area and metallic or black rear trim. All three come in Cotton White and are skirted, which hides the trapway and makes wiping the sides easier.

Retail listings don’t give full length, width and height figures for each model. Get TOTO’s dimension drawing before ordering if your bathroom is tight. Older Neorest models ran about 31 inches deep, so measure clearance from wall to door swing.

Which Seat Heights Are Confirmed?

Bidet King lists the LS at ADA height. ADA guidelines call for a seat height of 17 to 19 inches from the floor.

For the RS and AS, Bidet King doesn’t list seat height in inches. TOTO’s spec drawing for each model shows it. If you’re tall or helping an older parent, compare that figure to your current toilet with a tape measure.

Installation Notes

Installing a Neorest is close to installing any one-piece toilet, plus an outlet and a heavier lift. TOTO’s own instructions note that the Neorest bowl installs differently from a conventional toilet, so read them before day one.

Will Your Rough-In and Electrical Outlet Work?

Floor-mounted Neorests have used a 12-inch rough-in, measured from the finished wall to the center of the closet bolts. That’s the US standard, but confirm the figure on TOTO’s install sheet for your model. A 10- or 14-inch rough-in means a different product or a flange move.

You also need power. Plan for a grounded GFCI outlet within cord reach, usually low on the wall beside the toilet. The old 700H shipped with a cord under 4 feet long, so don’t count on extension. Many electricians run a dedicated circuit for an integrated smart toilet because the instant heater draws real current when it fires.

What Should You Plan for Delivery and Installation?

These are heavy one-piece units, so plan a two-person lift. Inspect the box at delivery for damage before signing.

A plumber is my recommendation unless you’ve set toilets before. The top unit and bowl connect with a water supply, wax or foam seal and electrical connection, and a leak under a $5,000 toilet gets expensive fast. Budget a few hundred dollars for install, plus electrician time if the outlet doesn’t exist yet.

RS vs AS vs LS: Which Differences Actually Matter

Only two upgrades change daily use: more presets and under-seat cleaning. Everything else on the comparison chart, from trim to remote material, is comfort or style.

When Is Under-Seat Cleaning Worth Paying For?

Under-seat EWATER+ cleaning pays off in busy bathrooms. Kids, guests and stand-up users all splash the seat underside and rim.

In a primary bath used by one or two adults, I’d skip it. A weekly wipe of the seat underside takes about a minute, and the RS already mists the wand and bowl. Our specialty cleaning section has routines that keep any bidet toilet fresh between deep cleans.

How Much Should Presets, Seating and Trim Influence Your Choice?

User memory presets matter in proportion to headcount. Two people fit the RS. Three or four regular users fit the four-user memory on the AS and LS.

Seating is the LS’s strongest case. ADA height and a bigger seat help tall users and people with mobility limits every single day. Trim is purely visual. If your faucets are matte black, the black LS ties the room together, but that’s an $8,000-plus decorating choice.

Neorest vs Alpha UXT Pearl and BidetKing Throne

The Alpha UXT Pearl and BidetKing Throne cost thousands less than any Neorest and cover the core smart toilet features. The UXT Pearl runs about $1,699, the Throne about $1,799, and the Throne Lite about $1,399, all well under the $4,679 RS.

What Do the Lower-Cost Alternatives Save You?

You save around $2,900 to $3,300 versus the RS. Alpha’s chart lists the UXT Pearl with a tankless heater for endless warm water, a stainless steel nozzle, electrolyzed water sanitizing, bowl mist and pre-rinse, a foot sensor, a backlit remote and two user presets. It flushes automatically at 1.28 gpf and carries a three-year warranty.

The Throne sits in the same price band. For many households, these bidet toilet options deliver warm water, a heated seat and auto flush for the price of a Neorest install plus delivery.

What Would You Be Paying Extra for with Neorest?

With a Neorest, the extra money buys TOTO’s specific package: CEFIONTECT glaze, the 1G TORNADO FLUSH at 1.0/0.8 gpf, PREMIST, and TOTO’s aerated wash, which I’ve lived with on my seats. You also get TOTO’s long track record in Japanese toilets and a deep US dealer network.

For a luxury bidet build at a higher price, Kohler’s Veil lands around $6,000. My Kohler Eir vs TOTO Neorest comparison covers how Kohler’s flagship stacks up.

Which Neorest Should You Buy?

Pick the TOTO Neorest RS for around $4,679 if one or two adults share the toilet. It has the same flush, glaze, PREMIST, EWATER+ wand and bowl misting, heated seat and dryer as the pricier pair.

Pick the TOTO Neorest AS at about $6,783 for a household of three or four, or a bathroom with heavy splash traffic. Four presets and under-seat EWATER+ earn their keep there, and the angular look suits modern rooms.

Pick the TOTO Neorest LS at about $8,007 to $8,790 if anyone in the house is tall or has mobility issues, or if you want silver, nickel or black trim. Its ADA height and larger seat are the only seating upgrades in the lineup.

Bidet King sells all three. Before ordering, confirm a 12-inch rough-in, a GFCI outlet within cord reach, and the seat height on TOTO’s spec drawing for the model you choose.
